NEW BOOK BY
SAM BROWNBACK
A bold warning about the Chinese Communist Party’s assault on religious freedom and the global consequences of digital authoritarianism.
The Chinese Communist Party views religion as a global threat to its control and is waging an aggressive campaign against people of faith. It spends billions each year to suppress or eliminate religious groups, including Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, and Falun Gong practitioners.
Ongoing persecution, described by some as genocidal, targets communities like Tibetan Buddhists, Uyghur Muslims, and Falun Gong adherents, while advanced surveillance technology tightens control. Confronting this system and standing with those resisting it is critical to preserving religious freedom worldwide.
Sam Brownback served as US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom from February 2018 to January 2021. During that time he was banned from China for his advocacy of human rights, a ban still in place today.
He served as Governor of Kansas from 2011 to 2018. Prior to that he represented his home state in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. He is the first American since Hannibal Hamlin in the 19th century to serve as an ambassador, a governor, a senator and a congressman.
Ambassador Brownback currently serves as co-chair of the International Religious Freedom Summit.
